Great read, Alice! I get a little sad at the end of every season regardless of whether I filled my tag. My wife and I are also two months away from meeting our first child and all we’ve heard is how fast it flies by. Going to be mindful on both seasons for awhile.

Well said, Alice! I never had kids and am too old now to entertain the thought, but the description of you truck and the back seat looking like Cabela's had vomited all over it, had me laughing out loud. Not just internet "LOL." Real live belly shaking laughter. The kind we all need these days. Thank you!

I was always, primarily, a bird hunter when I lived in Arkansas. Duck and doves. My youngest would hunt whatever was in season. His older brother still hunts on occasion, but I get to Arkansas during duck season ever year or so. The last duck hunt I went on I rarely fired a shot. With a bad back and arthritis in my hands I didn't feel safe, with a gun but I still enjoy going. Turkeys were always a challenge for me. They would walk across my back yard but as soon as the season opened, they would disappear.
