From a husband whose wife is more patient, conservation minded and a pure naturalist in the deer woods every fall, I love this! She has taken an archery buck each of the last 7 years. Never for the social media post or bragging rights, just because she loves it all. Great job and great perspective!
Nodding my head! I often think about female mammals that do the hunting and teach their offspring how to hunt, when men act as if they were always the hunters, and females were only gatherers. How do human males forget that? IT WAS ALWAYS US.
Exactly. I think it's telling how much archeological evidence points to the fact that women were both hunters and warriors. Definitely breaks the 1950s happy homemaker stereotype.
Really enjoyed this one, Alice! For the record, I know plenty of males who act more like 'huntresses' than the female hunters I know. Eyeliner included.
Terrific piece. Alice! I've had these thoughts often but you have brought a much more succinct observation of the problem. I wish that all the hunting world would read this! Well done, word soldier! Carry on!

Love it. I bet she and I would get along great at parties. :)
Thank you! I sent this to my daughter who is a hunter. One of the great joys of my life as a father is being able to share hunting with my daughter.
Thank you for passing it along, Jim.
