That explains it! I have thought about starting a 12 step group for codependent deer hunters or goose hunting addicts. I scout both every night. “Hi. My name is Bradley and I am a hunting addict. I have been sober for the last 12 hours and plan on acting out again this evening.” Please note that this humorous anecdote in no way discounts the real value of 12 step programs of which I have been a member for over 15 years.
I have no intentions of quitting, of course. Some addictions are worth it. My husband once thought I must be chatting it up with some dude.on my phone, but I was just obsessively checking my trail cameras. 🙃
Today, just after Noon, on the way back from a Range, I noted a buck in velvet eating lunch in an alfalfa field. Antlers all fuzzy and just beginning the first fork.
Made me wonder if he will make it to Gun Season and take a trip through my woods as he seeks a suitable doe....

Glad I’m not alone out there watching deer I know I’ll never hunt.

I love your way with words Alice! And oh, the beautiful bucks!
Right there with you, Alice.
