To make you feel better, you're not the only one in love with them

This does seem to be a pretty common affliction.

I, too am dumbstruck by their mystical qualities. The cheatnut rwd phase and the golden “syrupy” light surrounding them like an aura. Beautiful piece, Alice. See you on the backroads again tomorrow evening!

My good friend Mike Frisbie posts videos from his camera's year-round. Today I saw a post and he said he has 14 cameras on one property. And he has permission on a half dozen at least. He completely embraces his disease with never-ending persistence and enthusiasm. I love it.

Deer? At least ybe Venisons listen to Carrot Thief, the Guardian of the Garden. That rabbit informs them that if they think of eating my food; the guy who lives where the garden is will make them in to table fare.

As a result, I spend a fair amount of time shooing them back in to the thick brush behind my house. If they get to my house, 25 more yards puts them on a path directly to the 5-lane Interstate highway i live on. I prefer not to hear squealing tires and the dull thump of automobile impacting cervid. Then there's that whole "please put it out of its misery" thing.....

I prefer to shoot them proper during deer season.
