Good luck on the hunt! Elk are such magnificent creatures and boy do they spot a truck coming from miles away. In my earlier years I was able to connect with a few, bringing home some mighty tasty dinners. I miss those days and wish you much success!
Lucky you! Saturday is the opener of Fall Turkey Season in WNY. Gun Season for Deer won't open until the 15th. of November. Eupipment is ready for both.
This year, I'll be trying to get out as much as I can and use the guns I inherited from my late Dad more. He always wanted me to take them out; I would beg him to join me as I had my own. "C'mon, Dad, you bought a license, we'll go out together." He would find an excuse to stay at home; although the homemade bread he made was good stuff.
It would be awesome to take him to the Gun Club where rifles are legal to set him on a stand with the 270 he bought. Its a heck of a rig.....
